Getting to and Around Blackpool – Visitor Transport Guide

Planning how to get to and around Blackpool for a theatre show, seaside break or day out? Blackpool has a seafront tramway, local bus services and rail connections, while walking can be a practical option between some town-centre attractions. Check current routes, timetables, ticket options and service updates with the relevant transport operator before travelling, especially if you need to catch a late service after a performance.

Private journeys and arrival arrangements: Our current Transport listing is CAATS (Corporate and Airport Transfer Services), which provides a private transfer option. This category does not currently contain individual tram, bus or rail operator listings. For flight-related pickups and drop-offs, see our separate Blackpool Airport Transfers guide. If you’re attending a show, check the location in our theatre venues guide and browse what’s on in Blackpool this week. Allow extra time for traffic, parking and onward travel during busy weekends or large events.

Where to eat before your show

Most of Blackpool’s theatres are in or near the town centre, so there are plenty of restaurants within a few minutes’ walk. Aim to sit down at least 90 minutes before curtain up, and book ahead on Saturdays and during the Illuminations, when the town gets busy.

Save on your pre-theatre meal with Tastecard. Tastecard members get 2-for-1 meals or money off food at thousands of restaurants across the UK. Search for Blackpool to see which restaurants near the theatre take it before you book your table.
